This is Husker Country
The entire Franklin community and the whole State of
Nebraska are filled with football fans, especially of
the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers. Go Big
Red! You won’t find more excitement or
enthusiasm for football in general and specifically for
The Big 12 Conference and the competitiveness and
rivalry that it brings each and every year. Memorial
Stadium at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln is the
site of the pinnacle of football pageantry and the best
football fans in the country. Season tickets are as
rare as hen’s teeth, and every game day Saturday, there
is a steady stream of fans headed to Lincoln from all
over the State. There are awesome tailgate parties at
the stadium and tons of football parties in communities
across the State, especially in Franklin! A Husker game
is a spectacle you have to experience, regardless of who
your favorite team might be. In addition, Big Red is
very big in women’s volleyball and men’s baseball. Each
year, the College World Series of baseball takes place
just down the road at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium in
Omaha, Nebraska.
We are also very proud of our local Franklin Public
Schools’ athletics, including football, track,
volleyball, basketball and wrestling. The “Franklin
Flyers” have a brand new football field and gymnasium
and the community really turns out to enjoy Flyer
sporting events while supporting the kids. Great
facilities and great entertainment!
Whatever may be your favorite sport or favorite team,
Franklin is a great place to enjoy a good game with
friends or family, at home or at the stadium!
