4-H Kidz Fest
A celebration for 4-H parents and kids in and around
Franklin to come together in November to continue their
learning of leadership, citizenship and life skills.
Bargains on Byways
A three day, eight-county garage and yard sale
extravaganza that winds through Nebraska's Frontier
Trails Region in June. Enjoy a scenic drive, visit
historical sites and museums, find an antique shop or a
great eatery. Shop-til-you-drop at the stores, garage
and yard sales along the way.
BMW Bikers Rally
BMW motorcycle enthusiasts unite at Franklin County
Fairgrounds for the annual rally in August. There’s
camping and campfires, great vittles, some pickin’ and
grinnin’ and good ole Franklin hospitality.
Christmas in December
Local merchants light up the downtown business district
with Christmas activities, celebrations and great
promotions, discounts and values for the Holiday Season.
Easter
Egg Hunt
Mister Easter Bunny gets active at Franklin City Park.
Hundreds and hundreds of eggs are hidden just about
everywhere, just waiting for the eager youngsters to
find them.
End of Harvest Celebration
Celebrate the end of harvest with a free BBQ sponsored
by the City of Franklin in November. Enjoy a community
buffet while being serenaded by musicians and
professional entertainers.
Franklin County Fair
The County Fairgrounds at the edge of town is the site
of the County Fair in July. The Fair features carnival
rides, 4-H Club and FFA livestock competitions and
awards, livestock scrambles, tractor pulls and
demolition derbies. Live entertainment, dances and a
free barbeque along with lots of arts, crafts, cooking
and baking competitions round out the attractions at
this popular event.
Franklin Public Schools Sports
& Events
Few things bring hundreds of community members together
like Franklin Flyers athletics. The public and school
boosters alike attend any number of sporting events that
take place in state-of-the-art facilities, including the
gymnasium (volleyball, basketball and wrestling),
football and track fields.
Halloween Parade
Bring the kids downtown for a Halloween parade and
celebration. Candy giveaways, a costume contest, free
movies and activities for the ‘young-uns’ make downtown
Franklin the place to be.
HarvestFest
The Franklin County Museum is the site for celebrating
HarvestFest in October. Enjoy time travel back to
pioneer days, a pumpkin giveaway, music, hot apple
cider, food, trick or treats for the kids, raffles and
more.
Macon Lions Club Auction
Held in March, this civic organization puts on one of
the largest and most popular auctions in the region.
Part of the Macon Lions proceeds go to charitable
purposes including student scholarships. In addition to
the good food and visiting with your neighbors, this
venue provides a great way to sell unwanted items and a
place to buy very interesting articles that are very
hard to find.
Parade
of Lights
This City of Franklin is awash in lights in November.
This city-wide event features decorated and lighted
floats sponsored by families, merchants, schools, law
enforcement, emergency services and government. The
parade ends in a downtown celebration with merchant
discounts, free movies, band music and lots of other
entertainment.
